To offer its members a practice-oriented professional development format, the professional association for user experience experts, German UPA, regularly organizes webinars. The next session in the series is titled “UX in Industry” and takes place on February 28. Thomas Immich, Managing Director of Centigrade, explains how industrial environments can create experiences that are just as compelling as those in the consumer space.
Machines with a UX Like a Smartphone
Thomas Immich
"User interfaces in industrial contexts are often expected to appear just as 'sexy' as consumer products. At the same time, user needs and product life cycles in these two worlds are usually fundamentally different."
The webinar presents ways in which Industry 4.0 can make a revolutionary leap forward not only in terms of connectivity, but also in terms of user experience. To establish the necessary foundations, Thomas Immich covers defining user requirements and analyzing usage data. He also addresses how agile process frameworks such as Scrum can be combined with human-centered approaches, and emphasizes the growing need for small and medium-sized companies to maintain their own UX design system.
Participation in the webinar "UX in Industry" is free for German UPA members and students. If you are not a German UPA member and are still interested in participating free of charge, feel free to contact us.
